The Nerazzurri don’t sell their best players is the message

Inter Milan chief executive officer Guiseppe Marotta has played down rumors that striker Lautaro Martinez could leave the San Siro and move to Barcelona.

There has been plenty of speculation this week that Barca want to bring in the Argentine as a replacement for Luis Suarez, but Marotta isn’t having any of it.

“These things are only stories in the media,” he said.

”Our players are happy to stay with us and as always a player has to want to leave.

”Inter is a very strong club who rarely sells its best players. We want to continue down this path even if there are situations like this we have to handle, but this is all part of our job descriptions.”

Martinez scored against Barcelona in the Champions League at Camp Nou and has seven goals in all competitions for Inter this season. He also bagged a hat-trick for Argentina in a 4-0 friendly win over Mexico in September.
