Lionel Messi has re-affirmed his desire to win the UEFA Champions League again in an interview with World Soccer magazine.

“My dream is to continue winning trophies with Barça. I want to win the Champions League again, it is the challenge we all have,” the Argentine star says in the upcoming issue of the magazine, according to a press release.

Messi also stated his priorities as far as individual vs. collective prizes: “I have always said that individual trophies are not my goal. The Best, the Ballon d’Or, the Golden Shoe are not my challenges. And even less the prize for the best goal of the year. If I achieve them, fine, but if I don’t, everything is fine.”

He also responded to a challenge by Cristiano Ronaldo to “escape his comfort zone” by saying he never felt “the need to leave the best club in the world.”

The Barcelona #10 also gave praise to one of his newer teammates, Frenkie de Jong, saying he has adapted very well thanks to being raised in the Ajax school.

“He likes to have the ball, to make short passes, to pass between the lines and he has a very fast and strong stride,” Messi said.

Finally, Messi spoke about his future: “It’s difficult because your mind is fine, you feel like you’re 25 and you can keep doing the same things, but the body rules and there are circumstances in which you have to be more cautious than before.”
