Riqui Puig reacts to Barcelona’s win over Alaves
The midfielder played all 90 minutes
Riqui Puig was a happy man after playing all 90 minutes for Barcelona in Saturday’s 5-1 La Liga win over Alaves at the Camp Nou.
The 21-year-old was named in a youthful starting line-up, that also featured Ilaix Moriba, Francisco Trincao and Oscar Mingueza, and played the entire match for the first time this season.
Puig spoke to reporters after the game and thanked Koeman for giving him another chance and also offered his backing to Ilaix after a bad mistake led to a goal in the second half.
“We have a very good run, seven victories in the League says how we are doing. I felt very comfortable. Busi helped Ilaix and me. Once we scored the first goal they opened more, there were more spaces.
“Playing 90 minutes gives you a lot of morale, I’m very happy and I thank Koeman for these minutes. Ilaix’s mistake ... you learn from mistakes. We can now think about PSG, we’re really looking forward to it and I think we’re going to measure up.”

The midfielder is starting to enjoy more game time at Barca after a tough start to the season. He’s now started Barca’s last two La Liga games but is likely to drop back down to the bench for the visit of PSG.
