Ronald Araújo and Arnau Tenas are expected to play for Barcelona B

Riqui Puig and Ansu Fati are not expected to take part in Barcelona B’s quest to achieve promotion, but Ronald Araújo and Arnau Tenas will help the B team, according to local media.

Rumors suggest Puig and Fati were wanted by the B team as they prepare to play the semifinals, and, hopefully, the final to achieve promotion in the Segunda B playoffs.

Barcelona B defeated Valladolid Promesas 3-2 in the quarterfinals and will play Badajoz in the semis. It was said that some of the board wanted the pair to help the B team ensure they get into Segunda, but, Quique Setién was against the idea. Barcelona are dealing with a list of injuries and suspensions as they prepare to take on Napoli in the UEFA Champions League, and the coach was nervous about exposing some of his players to injury.

Puig and Fati will be given time off instead and then called up for training when the senior team gets together to prepare for their Champions League meeting.

Goalkeeper Tenas was an unused sub in Barcelona’s 5-0 triumph over Deportivo Alavés, while the other three started the match.

Should the B team prevail on Thursday, they will have to win one more game to achieve promotion.
