Darwin Nunez could be Barca’s Suarez replacement
The youngster is wanted at the Camp Nou
Barcelona’s plan to replace Luis Suarez is an especially interesting one. Since this summer was such a strange one at the club, they didn’t come up with an out of club replacement in the short allotment of time they were given once Suarez finally left. Not to mention the financial restrictions the club was, and still are, under.
A report from ESPN says that Darwin Nunez could be the man that Barca are becoming more interested in as a replacement. The Benfica attacker was someone that Barcelona had previously discussed signing this year, but timing and a mix of other problems came up and it didn’t happen.
Nunez joined Benfica in the summer and has been a big hit since arriving at the club:

Such a complete forward. What a transfer that was! And this is only the beginning. pic.twitter.com/X5iSdebaxt
As Barcelona get ready for the winter transfer window without an active president in place, their planning is more difficult then you would hope, despite what they may tell you. How they figure out what players to target in such a short time without a real upper-management structure in place for the long-term will be fascinating to watch.
