It’s safe to say the Barcelona defense needs some help. In particular the center-back position has been left looking sparse on a weekly basis.
Gerard Pique’s injury and a lack of consistency from the rest of the bunch have left Ronald Koeman and Barca looking for alternatives at the position. Manchester City’s Eric Garcia has been someone at the top of the Barca January transfer list.
The Barca decision makers aren’t putting all their eggs in one basket and have added Ajax’s Lisandro Martinez to the list of targets they hope to add according to Sport. At only 22 years of age, Martinez would be a fascinating player to see at Barcelona. He moved to Ajax last year after a successful stint at Newell’s Old Boys in Argentina and would fit in well.
