The forward’s loan is set to expire soon

Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi offered an update on Ansu Fati’s future at the club following Thursday’s Premier League defeat to Manchester City.

Fati did not feature in the game at the Amex Stadium that resulted in a comprehensive 4-0 win for Pep Guardiola’s side.

De Zerbi was asked about Fati’s future after the match and says he’s not sure yet what will happen with the young star.

“Ansu Fati is a big, big talent. I don’t know. I have to speak with Tony, the sporting director, scouts and recruitment team. Then I will speak to Ansu Fati,” he told the Mirror.

Fati moved on loan to Brighton in a bid to try and resurrect his career but hasn’t been able to have the impact he would have wanted.

The forward has made 17 Premier League appearances but only three of those outings have come as a starter.

De Zerbi has always talked up Fati and his potential, but there’s already been speculation the Seagulls don’t want to extend the Barca youngster’s loan for another season.
