El Sevilla, un equip renovat
Sevilla have so far brought in eight new faces over the summer ahead of a campaign in which they will be in the Champions League after winning last season's Europa League
As so often in recent seasons, Sevilla have made some substantial changes to their squad in the close season, with big names Carlos Bacca (Milan) and Aleix Vidal (FC Barcelona) departing, alongside Alejandro Arribas (Deportivo), Iago Aspas (Celta), Stephane M’bia (Trabzonspor), Deulofeu (Everton), Barbosa (Vilarreal) and Fernando Navarro (Deportivo), as well as Bryan Rabello, Javi Hervás, Cicinho, Babá and Manu del Moral who were all sent out on loan last season. In the other direction, Unai Emery has brought in the defenders Mariano Ferreira (Girondins), Rami (Milan) and Sergio Escudero (Getafe) and midfielders Gael Kakuta (Chelsea) and N’Zonzi (Stoke City).
With the team involved in both the league and Champions League this season, Sevilla have also brought in Yevhen Konoplyanka (Dnipro) and ex-Celta de Vigo man Michael Krohn-Dehli on free transfers, as well as Italian striker Ciro Immobile on loan from Borussia Dortmund, but they are still in the market for a couple more players, particularly a forward.
Plenty of experience
Along with the new faces, Emery will also be able to call on the bulk of the team who won last season’s Europa League and finished fifth in La Liga, with keepers, Beto and Sergio Rico and Coque, Reyes, Krychowiak, Banega, Kolo, Gameiro and Barça’s Denis Suárez, who will be starting his second season on loan
