The Barça Women's team has chosen their captain on returning to trianing at the Ciutat Esportiva following a week long training camp in Prades

Little by little the preseason for Xavi Llorens’ side is taking shape as objectives are ticked off. On Tuesday it was the turn of the new captains for the season 2015/16 to be presented. The squad have once again chosen Marta Unzué and Laura Ràfols as last season, supported by Ruth, Alexia, Melanie and Míriam to make a total of six players. The team has returned from Prades after a training camp and on Wednesday they face a friendly in Montpellier. The team will leave on the morning of the game and travel to the French city by coach. There, they will meet up with former blaugrana Virginia Torrecilla.

Andreia and Míriam injured

The bad news this week are the injuries to Andreia Norton and Míriam Diéguez. The Portuguese has had problems with her left knee and will finally undergo surgery on the anterior cruciate ligament and will be out for around six months. For her part, Míriam Diéguez had emergency surgery following appendicitis last weekend on returning from the training camp in Prades and will be out for around a month.
