It's been a while, but are you ready? A new season of FC Barcelona football means a new season of Predict the Score here at Barca Blaugranes and we are ready to kick-off affairs with the UEFA Super Cup, which is to be contested this evening in Tbilisi. Of course, Barcelona, as UEFA Champions League winners and all-round footballing monsters, are deemed to be favourites to lift the trophy but will face a stern test in the form of La Liga rivals and UEFA Europa League winners, Sevilla FC.

Unai Emery's side have made a few changes to their squad this summer, some for the better, some for the worse -- and it'll be interesting to see what impact, if any, their new star players can have against the Blaugrana. Perhaps more pertinently though, it'll be more interesting to see how Sevilla cope without much in the way of recognised central defensive talent.

Adil Rami, Daniel Carrico and others are out injured, which means we could well see a central defensive pairing of a full-back and a holding midfielder. I guess as Barcelona fans, we can't laugh or preemptively judge them for that.

However, we can point out the obvious upsides to this -- the most obvious of which is that with Luis Suarez leading the line, this could have a tangible impact on proceedings, perhaps more so than if Lionel Messi was still occupying his role as false nine. In any case, this match really could go either way -- but for the hope of our sextuple dreams, preferably the pendulum swings in our favour.
