The Spanish national side can take a giant step on Tuesday towards Euro 2016 in France next summer. After taking top spot from Slovakia last Saturday with a 2-0 win thanks to goals from blaugranes Jordi Alba and Andrés Iniesta, Vicente Del Bosque’s team face group C bottom side FYR Macedonia in Skopje at 8.45pm CET.

With three games to go Spain lead the group with 18 points, ahead of second placed Slovakia on goal difference. The game away from home against the country propping up the group could be decisive and Del Bosque has five blaugranes in his squad for the match: Gerard Piqué, Marc Bartra, Jordi Alba, Andrés Iniesta and Sergio Busquets.

Second friendly for Argentina and Brazil

On Tuesday four more blaugranes will be in action on the international stage. Leo Messi and Javier Mascherano’s Argentina side face Mexico in the second of two matches in the USA. The game in Dallas that kicks off at 4.00am CET on Wednesday morning is the final fixture for the team coached by Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino before the South American qualifying matches get under way for the World Cup in Russia in 2018.

Elsewhere, Neymar and Rafinha should also be in action for a Brazil side who are on tour in the US as well. In Boston they take on the USA in a friendly that starts at 2.30am CET Wednesday morning.
