Aleix Vidal’s agent plays down talk of a move to Roma

Aleix Vidal’s agent, Graziano Battistini, has said that “Barca aren’t in a rush to sell their players” with it looking increasingly likely he will stay at Camp Nou for the rest of the season.

Barca have allowed Arda Turan, Rafinha, Javier Mascherano and Gerard Deulofeu to exit this winter and Vidal has also been linked with a move away.

Both Sevilla and Roma have been speculated as possible destinations for Vidal but his agent’s latest comments suggest he’s going nowhere.

“It’s difficult to make predictions in football, Aleix Vidal is still a Barcelona player and Barça aren’t in a rush to sell their players,” he said.

“Contact between the clubs? It’s difficult to distinguish between contact and a real negotiation.

“Monchi is certainly a fan of the lad, but he’ll probably be focused on other business I don’t know about.

“It’s a situation I don’t think will take off because right now the conditions aren’t there.”

Time is running out in the transfer window and it looks right now that Vidal will stay, unless a club makes a late push for the 28-year-old.
