Injury News: Gerard Piqué Could Start vs. Valencia

The defender completed training today

Gerard Piqué hurt his knee in the 1-1 draw between Espanyol and FC Barcelona, but he could still be fit enough to start against Valencia in the Copa del Rey semifinal.

The player completed training today, seemingly normally. He looked in good spirits and was capable of running, playing the ball, and jumping.

Ernesto Valverde has not ruled out starting him in the match, and he is included in the matchday squad.

With Thomas Vermaelen injured, the only other centerback option to partner Samuel Umtiti is Yerry Mina, who has yet to play for Barça.

However, with the UEFA Champions League tie against Chelsea on the horizon, Piqué could be rested to make sure he is totally ready for the first leg..

Left-back Lucas Digne, who suffered an injury to his finger, also trained normally. He is also an option to play centerback.
