Barcelona rumors: Alaba, Iniesta, Bellerin, Mendy, Umtiti and Aouar

There’s a whole load of gossip to wade through

Alaba hints at Bayern exit

Today’s rumors start in Germany where Bayern Munich’s David Alaba has apparently put Barcelona on ‘red alert’ by saying he could look to leave the club at some point.

Alba was speaking to Austrian newspaper Kurier and said: “What am I going to do in the future? It’s something I ask myself, given I don’t see myself here for another five years.”

There’s more but his words have got Sport all excited, they report that Barcelona have previously tried to bring him to Camp Nou and may now try again.

Iniesta tempted by ‘stratospheric’ China offer

Andres Iniesta may have signed a lifetime contract last year but that does appear to have put off Chinese Super League side Tianjin Quanjian.

Apparently they are ready to make a “stratospheric offer” worth a mind-boggling €35 million a year, so say Mundo Deportivo.

Iniesta is yet to make a decision on his future but may find it difficult to turn down such a lucrative deal.

Bellerin to Barcelona back on?

In Italy those Hector Bellerin to Barcelona rumors have been dusted off and seem to back in fashion once again.

Tuttosport report that Juventus have lost interest in the Arsenal defender who is apparently keen to leave the Gunners because he wants to play Champions League football.

That apparently means that Barcelona may revive their interest in Bellerin. Moving swiftly on...

Barca interested in Lyon defender Mendy

Back to Sport and they bring news from France Football that Barcelona have taken a shine to Lyon full-back Ferland Mendy.

The club have apparently watched the 22-year-old in action several times and reckon he could be an upgrade on Lucas Digne.

Barca are also after a bit of competition for Jordi Alba and will keep an eye on his situation at the French club.

Happy Umtiti wants to stay

Over at Mundo Deportivo the word is that Samuel Umtiti is a very happy man indeed and want to stay at Barcelona.

Apparently he spoke to beIN Sports after Sunday’s win over Atletico Madrid and although MD don’t quote him directly it’s all good news.

The Frenchman reportedly said that he is the happiest man in the world because he plays in the the best team in the world with the best players and, well you get the message.

But Barca won’t meet his personal terms...

It’s a different story at the Daily Record where Duncan Castles is reporting that Barcelona have not yet met Umtiti’s personal terms, which could alert Manchester United.

Umtiti is apparently after a pay rise from €4 million to €9m a year and while he wants to stay, will only extend his contract if his financial needs are met.

Barca need to monitor their spending after splashing out on Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho, but apparently United would have no problem meeting his wage demands.

Barcelona still interested in Aouar

Today’s rumors end in France with news that Barcelona are still interested in Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar, according to Le10sport.

The teenager is enjoying a great season with the Ligue 1 side and appears to be a big fan of Andres Iniesta.

Aouar told France Football that the Barca midfielder is his idol, suggesting the club would have little trouble tempting him to Camp Nou if they wanted to bring him in.
