Luis Suarez: Now it seems winning the league has no merit
Luis Suarez sounded a bit dejected about Barcelona’s 2-1 win over Valencia at the Camp Nou on Saturday.
The Uruguayan scored the opening goal for Barca who responded to their Champions League defeat to Roma with a win.
The victory takes Barca even closer to the title but Suarez says that there now seems to be “no merit” to winning the league, although he says he understands supporters’ anger.
“It was normal that after what happened in the Champions League the fans in Camp Nou, like us, were angry,” he said.
“We are the first to admit it, but the response of the fans has been a good recognition of the league season we are having, which has a big merit to it.
“Now it seems that winning the league has no merit.”
