I don’t think Griezmann knows where his future lies, says Godin

Antoine Griezmann’s future continues to hog plenty of headlines with the Atletico Madrid striker still being heavily linked with a move to Barcelona.

Speculation has claimed Barcelona want him snapped up as soon as possible and the Frenchman has already admitted he wants his future sorted out before he heads to Russia for the World Cup,

Team-mate Diego Godin has been asked about Griezmann and says he has no idea what the 27-year-old will do, and he doesn’t think the star himself knows either.

“We do not know, we do not know anything, I do not think he knows it, we hope he stays here for a long time, he has a contract with Atlético de Madrid and I hope he keeps growing here, giving us much more joy,” he said.

Griezmann’s been in great form recently and has 27 goals for the season in all competitions for Atleti who look set to finish second and are in good shape in the Europa League.

There have been reports the club are trying their best to keep hold of him and will offer a new and improved contract.

It’s pretty similar to last season when he was heavily linked with a move away before deciding to stay at Atletico, and he looks to have a similar decision this year too.
