Ter Stegen set to miss out for Germany again

Joachim Low has confirmed Manuel Neuer will face France

Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen is set for more Germany frustration after coach Joachim Low confirmed Manuel Neuer will continue in goal against France.

The Bayern Munich stopper was guilty of another mistake during Germany’s surprise 3-0 defeat to Netherlands, and there have been calls for him to be dropped and Ter Stegen to come in.

Former Germany captain Lothar Matthaus has said the Barcelona keeper has earned the chance to start, but Low is not having any of it.

“We have to make tactical changes because we suffered a lot of counter-attacks against Netherlands, and that is very important because France are even stronger for that,” he said.

”We want to play a courageous game against the world champions. It’s obvious that we need changes at the personnel level after suffering a 3-0 defeat. The only thing I can say is that Manuel Neuer will start.”
