Chelsea set price for Álvaro Morata: Sevilla drop out of race as Atlético Madrid and Barcelona fight it out

Morata is the primary option for Barça according to reports

Sevilla have dropped out of the race to sign Spanish international Álvaro Morata as Atlético Madrid and Barcelona are making their push to land the striker, according to reports.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have already set the price necessary to sign the former Real Madrid and Juventus forward.

Sevilla president Pepe Castro told radio program El Transistor (Onda Cero): “Morata was excited about coming, the option was on the table, we spoke to his agent and with him. But it became complicated because too many economically powerful teams got in the mix. We saw we did not have this possibility any more.”

Castro revealed that among those teams were Spanish and foreign teams, including Inter Milan and AS Monaco. The media has strongly linked Morata with Barcelona and Atléti. Other rumored destinations for him include AC Milan, West Ham United, and Valencia.

Another radio program, Sin Concesiones, said that Chelsea have already set a price for Morata: a 3 million euro loan fee, plus half his wages. The show reported that Morata remains Barça’s #1 option to replace Munir this winter transfer window. It seems they will have to hold off competition from many teams in order to land the forward.
