Rumors: De Jong, Malcom, Denis and Carlos Vela latest

A quick look at the latest gossip

Barca make last push for De Jong

Today’s rumors start with Mundo Deportivo who reckon Barcelona are refusing to concede defeat in the chase for Frenkie de Jong.

Recent speculation claims the midfielder is on his way to PSG, but MD say Barca sent a delegation of Bartomeu, Abidal, Segura and Planes to Amsterdam this week.

The quartet met with De Jong and his agent in a bid to convince him his future lies at the Camp Nou and not the Parc des Princes.

However, they returned home with the feeling that they had not changed De Jong’s mind, and PSG still looks like being his destination.

De Jong has made his decision

Meanwhile, over at Catalunya Radio, the news is that young Frenkie has already made his decision.

The Dutch star is due to meet with Ajax on Saturday to inform them of his next move, and his decision could be made public in the next few days.

While Barcelona are not completely ruled out, it looks like he wants to join PSG as there is an easier route straight into the first team.

Carlos Vela loan unlikely

Over at AS, there’s an update on speculation surrounding a Barca move for forward Carlos Vela.

LAFC’s Director of Football John Thorrington has reportedly said there’s no way he will leave the club on loan, and if he does go it will have to be a permanent deal.

Vela has apparently emerged as a possible option in attack following Munir’s departure.

Malcom goes, Denis stays?

Malcom and Denis Suarez have both been linked with a January exit from Barcelona, but Ernesto Valverde will not let both players leave.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barca remain locked in talks with Arsenal over a loan move for Denis with a compulsory purchase option.

However, things have changed in recent days, and Barcelona have now prioritised selling Malcom instead as he does not fit into Valverde’s plans.

Valverde has told the club that if Malcom goes, Denis stays. He does not want to lose another attacker having already seen Munir depart for Sevilla.

Malcom’s waiting by the phone

Speaking of Malcom, Marca reckon that the Brazilian is starting to seriously consider a move to China.

Apparently he’s “waiting for an official offer” from Guangzhou Evergrande who are interested in his services.

Malcom is said to be “baffled” after being left out of the squad for games against Eibar and Levante, while Denis Suarez has been called up.
