Rumors: Willian swap rejected, Neymar desperate & Bayern want Rabiot

The latest January gossip

Neymar called Barcelona five times to ask for return

Today’s rumors start with the familiar face of Neymar who has been calling Barcelona begging to come back, so say El Mundo.

Well, that might be exaggerating matters a little, but apparently the Brazilian rang the Camp Nou five times and is desperate to return.

His father has also spoken with president Josep Maria Bartomeu to say his son is “disappointed and sorry” for leaving the club in the first place.

Willian, Malcom and a bundle of cash

Over in the UK there’s a curious rumor about Barcelona, Chelsea, Willian, Malcom and a bundle of clash that’s rapidly picking up steam.

The Daily Mail reported that Chelsea were offered Malcom plus cash (worth up to £50m) for Willian.

This was swiftly followed by The Telegraph reporting that Chelsea have rejected the deal, but that Barcelona “may look to sell” Malcom.

For what it’s worth Ernesto Valverde said Malcom wouldn’t be leaving in his press conference ahead of the Copa del Rey defeat against Levante.

Bayern join Rabiot chase

Meanwhile, Barcelona are now facing competition for Adrien Rabiot from Bayern Munich, according to ESPN.

It has been reported that Barcelona have already agreed a deal for the PSG midfielder, but apparently he’s yet to “commit” to Barca and Bayern have now registered an interest.

Rabiot and PSG would both prefer he left in the winter, and Bayern are willing to make a move in the January transfer window.

Bayern won’t match Barcelona’s offer but could tempt Rabiot by signing him now rather than waiting for the summer.

Denis to join Arsenal on loan?

There’s been an update in the Denis Suarez to Arsenal saga. Manager Unai Emery has admitted his club are only interested in loans in January and not permanent deals.

“We cannot sign permanently,” Emery said, according to the Telegraph. “Only loan players. I don’t know his [Suarez] situation now. We can only sign players later on. I know the club is working on possibilities of which players help us with big performances like we need now.”

It still seems likely Denis may move on this winter, but if he wants to join Arsenal he’ll have to accept it’s just a temporary deal for now.

Munir close to Sevilla move

The future of Munir continues to rumble on amid speculation both Atletico Madrid and Sevilla want the Barcelona forward in January.

According to Goal, Sevilla are pushing to sign Munir in January for a fee likely to be in the region of €2-3 million.

Meanwhile, Marca reckon that Atletico Madrid are also interested, but they will need to sell someone in order to make room for the 23-year-old.
