Barcelona to face Valencia in Copa del Rey final
Marcelino’s men knocked out Real Betis
Barcelona will play Valencia in the final of the Copa del Rey in May after Marcelino’s side saw off Real Betis in the second semi-final on Thursday.
Valencia drew 2-2 at Real Betis in the first leg and then secured a 1-0 win at Mestalla to secure a 3-2 aggregate victory.
It’s a blow for Real Betis who had been hoping to make it to the final which will be held in their own Benito Villamarín Stadium on May 25.
Instead it’s Valencia who go through to face Barcelona, and they will be hoping they can claim silverware in what is their centenary year.
Barcelona have faced Valencia twice in La Liga already this season but are yet to taste victory in either meeting.
The two teams drew 1-1 in October at Mestalla and then played out a 2-2 draw at the Camp Nou at the start of February.
