Rakitic’s agent says summer exit is an ‘impossible scenario’

The midfielder has been linked with a move away

Ivan Rakitic’s future at Barcelona keeps making headlines even though the midfielder keeps saying he’s happy at the club and wants to continue.

There were reports last week that Inter Milan are preparing a big offer for the Croatian, and so his agent Arturo Canales has been asked about the 30-year-old’s future.

“​Ivan leaves Spain in the summer? It’s an impossible scenario,” he apparently told website PassioneInter.

Rakitic’s current contract expires in 2021 and reports have claimed he’s in talks with the club over extending his current deal.

He’s been linked with other clubs this season, notably Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain who are believed to be admirers.

Meanwhile, Barcelona have agreed a deal to bring in Frenkie de Jong from Ajax over the summer which means they have a wealth of midfielders and may need trim the squad and the wage bill.
