Rumor round-up: Lo Celso, Onana, Correia linked to Barcelona
Three young players linked in today’s transfer stories
Barcelona and Real Madrid to fight it out over Lo Celso
Giovani Lo Celso is a target for both La Liga giants, with each team willing to give up players to bring the Argentine to the club. He’s technically a Paris Saint-Germain player, but Real Betis have him on loan and have the option to purchase him. According to El Confidencial, they are already decided on activating the buy option. Betis are reportedly interested in a player plus cash deal. From Barça, they’d like Juan Miranda. From Madrid, they want Mariano, and possibly, Achraf and Theo Hernández on loan.
Onana return?
Ajax’s keeper André Onana could replace Jasper Cillessen as Barcelona’s #2 if the Dutchman leaves this summer, according to Catalunya Ràdio. Cillessen was previously Ajax’s #1, so Onana would be replicating his career path. Onana was part of Barcelona’s academy, and the report says he would be keen on a return. His price has been rumored at around 20 million euro, but the Catalans could be looking to lower the fee.
“The new Dembélé”
According to RAC1, Barcelona are scouting a youngster who plays for Sporting Club’s youth team. Félix Correia is an 18-year-old right-winger who has represented Portugal at all youth levels. He has been compared to Ousmane Dembélé in his style of play. One for the future.
