The captain scored twice against Manchester United
Lionel Messi has been named Champions League Player of the Week after his two goals against Manchester United in Barcelona’s quarter-final win.
The Barcelona scored a brilliant first goal, then beat David De Gea for a second time four minutes later as the hosts ran out 3-0 winners at the Camp Nou.

Messi saw off competition from Roberto Firmino, Matthijs de Ligt and Heung-min Son to scoop the award.
The Barcelona captain’s goals took him to 10 in the competition this season in just eight appearances and means he’s out on his own as the tournament’s top scorer.
