Barcelona planning to sign star duo in summer - report

A summer of change is said to be on the cards

Mundo Deportivo reckon that Barcelona’s focus has reportedly shifted towards Matthijs de Ligt now that Ajax and themselves are out of the Champions League. The Netherlands defender is the long term replacement for Gerard Pique.

The other player that Barcelona are pursuing is.....wait for it.

Antoine Griezmann. Remember him? The Atletico Madrid forward has reportedly regretted turning down Barcelona last summer and is interested in reengaging the club. His release clause will drop to €120m on July 1.

The two players that will need to leave Barcelona to facilitate the moves are Ivan Rakitic and Philippe Coutinho. Rakitic has been wanted by PSG and Inter Milan for some time, so he likely won’t be difficult to move on. Coutinho will be tougher given the price tag Barcelona will likely want for him.
