Suarez: Barca ‘defended like kids’ against Liverpool
The Uruguayan is expecting plenty of criticism
Luis Suarez criticised Barcelona’s defending after they conceded four goals against Liverpool at Anfield and were dumped out of the Champions League.
Divock Origi gave Liverpool hope with an early goal before Georginio Wijnaldum scored twice after half-time and Origi grabbed his second with 11 minutes left to seal the win.
Suarez says their defending for the fourth goal in particular was poor and believes the team must be prepared for the criticism that will now come their way.
“It is inconceivable that we, Barcelona, concede two goals in just over a minute. We defended like kids for the fourth goal,” he said.
”We have to be really self-critical about what happened. It’s the second time this has happened. We can’t commit the same mistakes two years running. There are a lot of things to evaluate and to think about.
”We have to apologise for our attitude and we must be conscious that the criticism is going to rain down on us now. We’re really upset, we’re hurting a lot. We’re humans and we feel the pain.”

Barcelona’s defending was weak throughout the game, but the team as a whole put in dire display and were deservedly well beaten.
