Atletico may take action against Barca over Griezmann
The Spanish champions could be in trouble
Atletico Madrid are reportedly considering taking legal action against Barcelona over the “alleged poaching” of Antoine Griezmann, according to AS.
Griezmann caused a stir in May by announcing in a video message he would leave Atletico Madrid in the summer despite signing a contract until 2023 last year.
Speculation has since surfaced claiming that Griezmann actually agreed to sign for Barcelona all the way back in March.
Spanish radio station Cadena Ser has reportedly “seen documents” that show Barcelona and Griezmann were negotiating in November and “agreed terms” in March.
The two clubs have already clashed over the French forward. The Rojiblancos reported Barca to FIFA in 2017 for “repeated contact with Griezmann and his people.”
CEO Miguel Angel Gil Marín then released a statement in May 2018 stating how his club were “fed up with Barcelona’s attitude” and their “absolute lack of respect towards Atletico Madrid.”
If the latest report is true then it appears Barcelona have angered Atletico once again and can expect a response from Los Colchoneros.
