Hiroki Abe set to join Barca from Kashima Antlers
A deal has been agreed for the 20-year-old
Barcelona are set to add another young talent to the ranks after agreeing a deal with Japanese side Kashima Antlers for Hiroki Abe.
The Samurai Blue have announced the deal and Abe has spoken about his forthcoming move to the Camp Nou.
“Since graduating from high school, I spent two and a half years at Kashima Antlers and was able to grow both as a person and a professional footballer,” he said.
“It is a difficult decision to leave the team but I have decided to make the move to FC Barcelona, as I believe the various challenges I will now face are absolutely necessary for my development.”
The youngster is already a full Japan international and made three appearances for his country at the 2019 Copa America in Brazil this summer.
He was also a key player for Kashima last season as they won the AFC Champions League.
