Matthäus explains why signing Dembele would be a problem for Bayern
Manager Niko Kovac has talked up the Frenchman
Speculation over Ousmane Dembele’s future at Barcelona never seems very far away, and the French forward has again been the subject of rumors this summer.
The most recent reports have claimed interest from Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.
Manager Niko Kovac has spoken about Dembele recently and said if Barcelona sign Neymar it might help his club land the Frenchman.
However, Bayern legend Lothar Matthäus reckons that there might be a bit of a problem if the club tried to sign Dembele.
“When I think about the scandals that Dembelé caused at Borussia Dortmund and at Barcelona, I see no reason to believe that he would behave differently at Bayern,” he said.
”[Bayern president] Uli Hoeness had a clear position against Dembélé’s strike at Dortmund. If Bayern sign him, they would have a problem of credibility.”

Dembele’s name has also popped up when it comes to offloading players if Barcelona were to sign both Antoine Griezmann and Neymar this summer.
Meanwhile, the 22-year-old has already begun his pre-season preparations after returning to training this week ahead of the rest of the first-team squad.
