Barca furious after Dembele’s hamstring injury

The Frenchman’s behaviour has been called into question

What is going on? Barcelona are reportedly pretty mad at at Ousmane Dembele this week. The French international apparently made an attempt to cover up how bad his hamstring injury was after the 1-0 loss to Athletic on Friday.

The story goes like this. Dembele supposedly was traveling to Senegal to spend the weekend with his brother, and went so far as to spend the night in the airport to catch his flight. Dembele told Barcelona doctors that he felt nothing after the game and then went on to the airport to catch his flight.

He then spent the weekend in Senegal and showed up for training on Monday like it was no big deal. Dembele was then forced to leave training citing his hamstring was uncomfortable. After the tests took place it was determined that Dembele had suffered a hamstring tear and would be out five weeks.

WHAT. How insane is that? Modern day sports and Dembele is lying about his injury to go away for the weekend like he’s in grade school again. Now, being sensitive I’m sure being injured again is beyond a disappointment for Dembele, and he could have been in denial, but that still doesn’t excuse not being forthcoming.
