The French defender recognized that the transfer saga had become a distraction

Clément Lenglet seemed relieved that the Neymar saga was over in an interview with Canal+ Sport.

“There were many rumors... It was a very agitated time in the club. Finally, it’s over. That way, we’ll be able to work a little easier,” the defender said.

Rumors about Neymar’s possible return from Paris Saint-Germain were the story of a summer transfer window in which Barcelona also bought big stars such as Antoine Griezmann and Frenkie de Jong.

Lenglet, Griezmann, and Samuel Umtiti have been called up by the French national team to play UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying games against Albania and Andorra. Ousmane Dembélé is the name missing from the French Barcelona contingent, as he is out injured.

Lenglet also spoke about Umtiti, who is his teammate, partner, and sometimes competitor for a starting spot both at club and international levels.

“My relationship with Sam is very good, we get along very well ... Playing as regularly as possible gives us the opportunity to come into the French national team,” Lenglet said.
