The centre-back is a hit with the France boss

France boss Didier Deschamps has been full of praise for Clement Lenglet and his performances for the national team.

The Barcelona centre-back only won his first call-up for France in May but seems to have made a good impression during his time with the world champions.

Lenglet partnered Raphael Varane in central defence during France’s 4-1 win over Albania on Saturday, and Deschamps has highlighted his qualities.

“He had a great season with Barca,” he said. “He has a lot of serenity, assurance and technical ease. He’s calm on the ball. Without being very big, he is also effective in duels and knows how to anticipate. He’s still improving but he gives off a lot of confidence.”

France are back in action on Tuesday against Andorra and Deschamps has promised “some changes” to his team for the clash with the minnows. France go into the game joint top of Group H with Turkey and Iceland, while Andorra are bottom with zero points and are also yet to score.
