Philippe Coutinho and Ivan Rakitic are tipped to leave

Barcelona reportedly need to raise €124 million in player sales this season in order to avoid “damaging its financial stability.”

ESPN report that some officials are already concerned about the club’s financial health and are working hard to balance the books.

Yet the report also says there is confidence at Barcelona that they can raise plenty of funds by selling Philippe Coutinho and Ivan Rakitic.

Coutinho joined Bayern Munich on loan over the summer in a deal that includes an option for the German giants to buy for €120m.

The Brazilian has enjoyed a decent start to life in the Bundesliga, but Bayern would have to smash their transfer record to land Coutinho permanently.

Reports this week have also claimed that Barcelona still owe “almost €100m” for Coutinho, and the fee “appears to be payable to a third party lender,” according to the Liverpool Echo.

Meanwhile, Rakitic has long been linked with a Barca exit, and the club turned down a “big offer” from PSG for the midfielder in 2018, according to the report.

The Croatia international has since slipped down the pecking order at Barca and made just one start this season. However, if another big offer were to arrive for the 31-year-old it would surely be accepted this time around.
