The world champions were held by Turkey

Antoine Griezmann says France are a “little sad” after being held to a 1-1 draw by Turkey in Euro 2020 qualifying on Monday.

The draw means the the world champions are yet to confirm their place in next summer’s finals and stay second in the group, level on points with Turkey and four points ahead of Iceland in third.

Griezmann offered his thoughts after the match in Paris.

“We are a little sad, a little weird, because we made a great match, one of our best,” he said.

”We opened the scoring on a corner, but we conceded on a set piece, there is a little bit of anger, but we will be calm again. We have to learn from our mistakes, that we are not perfect.”

The Barcelona striker assisted Olivier Giroud for France’s only goal of the game but is enduring a bit of a drought at international level. He is without a goal for Les Bleus since June, a run of 587 minutes, according to Mundo Deportivo.
