Griezmann’s situation ‘far from catastrophic’ - Deschamps
The France boss has been talking about his forward
France boss Didier Deschamps has been talking about Antoine Griezmann’s situation at Barcelona and says that while he could be doing better things are “far from catastrophic.”
The forward is struggling a little to adapt to life at the Camp Nou following his big-money move from Atletico Madrid in the summer.
Griezmann has popped up with four goals and three assists but often looks a little lost stuck out wide on the left and is yet to consistency reproduce his best form.
The World Cup winner is now with the France squad and Deschamps has offered his thoughts on the 28-year-old.
“Things could be better, but I watch each match, and things are far from catastrophic,” he said. “It is also a question of how he is used. He was in his best role with Atletico Madrid.
”Perhaps he is less decisive [with Barcelona] than he is with us. However, he knows his importance to us and my confidence in him.”
