The French defender has discussed his team-mates

Clement Lenglet has been talking about life at Barcelona with Antoine Griezmann and Lionel Messi while on international duty with France this week.

The Barcelona defender spoke at a news conference about Griezmann’s struggles to adapt to life at his new club, while he also opened on how Messi welcomed players to the Camp Nou.

Lenglet on Griezmann

It’s not simple to fit in at a club like Barcelona. Some players are already there and have a history together. Like in the French national team, there is a very specific way of playing - how we’re positioned is different than what Antoine knew at Atletico, where he was starting from far back.

You need time to adapt to feel better on the pitch and play as well as possible. At Barcelona, we’re trying to recover the ball as high as possible on the pitch with a lot of efforts on 20 to 30 metre runs. With Atletico, it was a bit different, they were falling back, and it was 50 to 60 metre runs. So you have to learn that, you need time.

Lenglet on Messi

He is very calm, very composed, very simple, very natural. When you arrive at Barça, you are careful about what you do. But Leo is not the sort of person to reprimand you or to give you orders.

It is the case with Antoine, like it was with me. A dialogue exists. Leo is someone who has a very tight-knit circle, who gets on very well with Luis but he helps others on a daily basis.

Lenglet and Griezmann will be expecting to feature this week when France play their final Euro 2020 qualifiers. Les Bleus take on Moldova on Thursday and Albania on Sunday.
