Papers: Neymar insists on return, Barca’s Griezmann plan
A look at the latest headlines
It’s international break time which makes for a pretty slow news week and lots of speculation about Barcelona players past, present and potentially future.
Tuesday’s front pages see Neymar and Antoine Griezmann feature heavily and fresh updates on both players’ futures.
Mundo Deportivo report that Neymar was in Barcelona over the weekend (his second visit in a month and a half) and has not given up on a return to the Camp Nou.
Apparently the Brazilian has been busy telling his mates at Barcelona that he hopes to ‘fulfil his dream’ of coming back to the club.
There are claims he was at Luis Suarez’s wife’s birthday party at the weekend along with Lionel Messi. Neymar is currently out injured (again) but is due to return to action after the international break.
Over at Sport the front page is dedicated to Griezmann and Barcelona’s plan for the World Cup winner this season.
Apparently Griezmann’s start to the season with his new club is giving Barcelona concern they have bought another Philippe Coutinho due to his lack of connection with the rest of the team.
Manager Ernesto Valverde is therefore trying to find solutions for Griezmann to help him fit in at the Camp Nou. The players are also trying to help too. Their report mentions Griezmann was also at Suarez’s birthday party, along with Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets and Messi.
There is still a lot of optimism around the club that they can make Griezmann’s big-money move from Atletico work out, but also an acknowledgement from both sides that improvement is needed.
