Barça draw Napoli in UCL Round of 16
A tough road to the quarterfinals for the La Liga leaders
The draw for the Round of 16 of this season’s Champions League was made on Monday in Nyon, Switzerland, and Barcelona will have a tough path to the quarterfinals.
The La Liga leaders and Group F winners will face Napoli when the knockout rounds start in February, with the first leg taking place at the San Paolo a couple of weeks before the return match at Camp Nou. Barça finished first in the Group of Death ahead of Borussia Dortmund and third-place Inter Milan, while Napoli clinched second place in Group B behind Liverpool.
These two teams faced off twice in America during preseason, with Barça winning both games by a combined score of 6-1. Napoli have just changed managers with Carlo Ancelotti being replaced by Gennaro Gattuso, and it will be fascinating to see the changes they go through over the next couple of months until they face Barça.
Here are the full results of a very fun Round of 16 draw (the eight group winners are on the right side of the draw and will play the second legs at home):
Borussia Dortmund vs Paris Saint-Germain
Real Madrid vs Manchester City
Atlético Madrid vs Liverpool
Lyon vs Juventus
Tottenham Hotspur vs RB Leipzig
Napoli vs Barcelona
