Ronald Araujo and Alex Collado were on target

Barcelona B turned on the style on Saturday to beat Espanyol B 2-0 at the Johan Cruyff Stadium in their first game on 2020.

Ronald Araujo opened the scoring on 33 minutes from a free-kick into the penalty area by Monchu.

Barcelona wrapped up the win after a flowing move. Riqui Puig got the team going with a brilliant pass with the outside of his boot out to find Sergio Akieme racing down the flank.

The left-back then showed great vision to pick out Alex Collado to apply an emphatic finish and secure the win for García Pimienta’s side.

Puig showed once again his quality for the hosts, while Sergi Puig also caught the eye after coming in from Inaki Pena in goal for Barca B.

The win sees the team move to within one point of Espanyol in third place in the standings after 19 games played.
