Cucurella denies racially abusing Militao
The Barcelona loanee has had his say
Marc Cucurella has denied racially abusing Real Madrid defender Eder Militao during Getafe’s 3-0 defeat to Los Blancos in La Liga on Saturday.
The two players clashed in the second half at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez and there were reports that he racially abused Militao.
However, Cucurella has taken to Twitter to offer his side of the story:
Partido duro donde no salieron las cosas como querÃamos. Toca seguir trabajando! Gracias afición por el gran ambiente! #VamosGeta pic.twitter.com/U7y7TGKkB9
— Marc Cucurella (@cucurella3) January 4, 2020
He wrote: “I would like to clarify that in no moment did I insult Militao. My words were ‘Shut your f*cking mouth. I apologise if anyone has been offended by this. These are the only statements I have made and that I will make about it. Thank you.”
Cucurella’s explanation followed on from reports that he used the word “mico” (monkey) and not “pico” (mouth) in his confrontation with Militao.
