Todibo explains why he joined Schalke

The defender will spend the rest of the season in the Bundesliga

Jean-Clair Todibo has been talking about his decision to move to Schalke on loan for the rest of the season.

The defender has left Barcelona for the Bundesliga and could stay permanently if Schalke activate their purchase option. Barcelona also have a buyback clause, but the less said about that the better.

Todibo reportedly attracted interest from several clubs around Europe, including AC Mila, but said Schalke’s success with young players helped make his mind up.

Schalke are having a decent season and are currently fifth in the table, only three points behind champions Bayern Munich in third.

Todibo will be hoping he can gain some regular minutes with David Wagner’s side after managing just five appearances in his year at Barca.
