The striker could leave Leganes before the end of the week

Martin Braithwaite’s agent, Hasan Cetinkaya, has said he expects the striker’s move from Leganes to Barcelona to go through on Thursday.

Barcelona are reportedly keen on the Leganes striker as they seek an emergency signing as cover for injured forwards Ousmane Dembele and Luis Suarez.

Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet emailed Cetinkaya to ask about reports of a possible deal and were told “I expect something to happen on Thursday.”

Meanwhile, ESPN are reporting that Barcelona expect to close the deal tomorrow and could also announce it then.

Leganes owner Felipe Moreno has already said his team are “very worried” they are going to lose Braithwaite. His departure would leave them short as they also lost Youssef En-Nesyr in the January transfer window.

Moreno says Leganes will not negotiate with Barcelona for Braithwaite but will be unable to prevent him leaving if the Catalan giants pay his release clause.
