Barça began their match against Levante six points behind LaLiga leaders Real Madrid, and as a result took the game to their opponents from the first whistle. The first chance of the game took 13 minutes to arrive as Ansu Fati moved purposefully towards goal before releasing Leo Messi who shot just wide.

After the 2-1 defeat of Levante on Sunday, Quique Setién and his team gathered for the usual post-match recovery session at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper at 11.00am in Barcelona. No fewer than ten of the Barça B squad also joined them for the workout (Iñaki Peña, Sergi Puig, O. Mingueza, J. Cuenca, Monchu, Matheus Pereira, Riqui Puig, Collado, Rey Manaj and Ansu Fati) as well as Mika, Antonio Jesús, Konrad and Nils from the U19 team.
