OFFICIAL: Barca sign Martin Braithwaite
The Denmark international has sealed a surprise move
Barcelona announced on Thursday that they have completed the signing of Martin Braithwaite from Leganes.
The club have been allowed an emergency signing after injuries to Luis Suarez and Ousmane Dembele and have made the surprise decision to go for Braithwaite.

Barca have paid his €18 million release clause and confirmed he has signed a contract with the club that runs until the summer of 2024. He has a buyout clause of €300m.
“FC Barcelona have paid the buy out clause of the player Martin Braithwaite and therefore he is no longer contractually tied to Club Deportivo Leganés. The cost of the clause is 18 million euros.
“The player will sign a contract with the Club for the rest of the season and four more until 30 June 2024 with the buy out clause set at 300 million euros.”

Braithwaite has six goals and two assists in La Liga this season and is only eligible to play in the league for Barcelona in 2019-20.
His arrival will strengthen Quique Setien’s attacking options and will allow him the option of giving Lionel Messi, Antoine Griezmann and Ansu Fati some rest.
