Pique banned for Barca’s trip to Real Betis

The centre-back will sit out next week’s game

Gerard Pique will miss Barcelona’s next league match at Real Betis due to suspension after picking up his 10th La Liga booking of the season against Levante on Sunday.

The centre-back was given a yellow card for bringing down Borja Mayoral in the second half, earning him a one-match ban.

Pique’s absence means Clement Lenglet is likely to partner Samuel Umtiti in central defence for the game at the Benito Villamarín Stadium.

The suspension will be a blow for Quique Setien’s side as they have been less than impressive away from home this season.

Barca lost 2-0 to Valencia in their last league match away from the Camp Nou and have also been beaten at Granada, Athletic and Levante.
