In about 10 years’ time...

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has been talking about the future and says he’d love to manage Lionel Messi at Newell’s Old Boys one day.

The 48-year-old has been out of work since being sacked by Spurs in November but has been linked with plenty of top jobs across Europe since his departure.

Pochettino began his playing career at Newell’s, like Messi, and is looking forward to returning to the club at some point.

“I hope someday to return to the club. I can still wait, maybe it will be in 10 years with Messi,” he said.

Messi has said in the past he’d like to play back in Argentina with Newell’s but more recently has said he thinks he’ll retire at Barcelona as he doesn’t want to uproot his family.
