Ambitious three player swap between Inter, Barcelona, and Man City nearing completion - report

Lautaro Martínez, Nélson Semedo, João Cancelo to be traded?

Inter Milan, Barcelona, and Manchester City are nearing a mega-deal that would see three players change scenery. according to a new report.

Lautaro Martínez, Nélson Semedo, and João Cancelo are the players involved in this prospective blockbuster swap, with money changing hands in the process. This could be one of the most, if not the most, high-value swap operations in history.

The report says the signing of Lautaro is almost completed, but one stumbling block was which player to include in the deal to lower the cash demands for the striker.

Semedo was offered to Inter, but the Italians considered his wages too high. Then, Emerson, who is loaned out to Real Betis, was offered. But despite the good reports on the Brazilian, his value was considered too low to lower the price enough for Barcelona.

Meanwhile, City had made a bid for Semedo, offering Cancelo to Barcelona to lower the price. That’s when the idea came in to combine both deals, and Barcelona offered Cancelo to Inter.

Then, Portuguese superagent Jorge Mendes came on the scene. He represents both right-backs and is said to approve of the deal.

It’s a complicated deal with several players and three clubs involved, but if City and Barcelona agree on the Semedo-Cancelo swap, the move for Lautaro goes one step forward.

From then, there is a chance Barcelona would want to include another player alongside Cancelo. The most likely candidate for that is Arturo Vidal, although it is said Inter are looking at various options. From then on, the final deal could be Cancelo plus Vidal plus 60 million euro, a part of which would come from City paying extra to get Semedo for Cancelo.

In theory, all sides would benefit.

Semedo would get a pay raise and a new scenery to progress in. City would get the right-back they truly want. Inter would reinforce in two positions and have extra money to spend. Vidal would get more playing time. Lautaro would get his move. Barcelona would get their man, and not have to break the bank.
