Trincao caught the eye from an early age, says Braga coach

The youngster will join Barca in the summer

Francisco Trincao’s former coach at Braga, JosĂ© Carvalho AraĂºjo, has been talking about the youngster who is set to move to Barcelona in the summer after agreeing a deal earlier in the season.

The forward is not too well-known and only turned 20 in December, but Barca were still willing to shell out €31 million to secure his signature.

Araujo says that Trincao caught the eye from a young age with the Portuguese club and offered a bit of insight into what to expect from the youngster.

“TrincĂ£o is one of those who we noticed was different from an early age. Now it’s easy to talk, but I trained him in the under-13s (!), And for six years, so I know what I’m saying. He always showed an enormous capacity for work, what set him apart was the way he faced things. For him, playing football is a pleasure, a joy, and that is fundamental. For TrincĂ£o, it’s like playing with friends on the street or with Barcelona ...

“Barcelona has always been his goal, so, also knowing his childhood story, it is a huge pride to have contributed to achieved a kid’s dream. I am very happy to have been part of this process and to have helped the club to have a fantastic financial return.”

Trincao is due to arrive at Barcelona in July and has a buyout clause of €500m. There have been rumors he could be sent out on loan initially with Real Betis reportedly keen.
