Barca have ‘total confidence’ in Setien, says Bartomeu
The coach has been backed
Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has insisted the club have total confidence in manager Quique Setien after Sunday’s 4-1 win over Villarreal.
The coach came into the match under a bit of pressure after a run of three draws in four games that had left Barca seven points behind Real Madrid.
Barca reduced the gap to four again with a comfortable win on Sunday, with Bartomeu giving Setien his full backing after the match.
“Our confidence in Quique Setién is total. He’s doing a great job. We’ll fight for what’s left of La Liga and then the Champions League comes.
“I congratulate the team because it’s a victory of great value. We’re seeing that we’re going into the right direction. Today was fun.”

Bartomeu also said he was pretty confident Lionel Messi will stay, despite rumors to the contrary this week, and added: “I am not going to give details of the negotiations but he has said many times that he wants to end his career at Barça.”
