Barcelona president wakes up, realizes youth is important
Bartomeu says the club won’t sell any of their promising young players
Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu spoke about the importance of youth this week. Bartomeu is someone who tends to discuss youth importance and that level of importance simply stays in the talking points and not on the pitch.
But it seems like he might mean it this time, making it clear that the young players that fans are very excited about really are part of the future plans and will not be sold.
“[Francisco TrincĂŁo] is not for sale. Neither are Pedri, Ansu [Fati], [Marc-AndrĂ©] Ter Stegen, Riqui Puig, or [Ronald] Araujo. Those young players are not for sale.
“We are creating a new generation for the future.”

Even if Bartomeu decides to emphasize youth in the transfer window, his track record proves all the talk really doesn’t mean that much unless the players get time on the pitch, because the way things usually work is they don’t play at all and are inevitably loaned out or sold for 25 percent of their value.
Let’s see if the boss can walk the walk this time.
